    Room Addition Material list

Is it possible to get a list of materials for a room addition to an existing house. I do a lot of drawings for "sunroom" type additions and it would be helpful if I could tell CA "This part is existing, no need for a materials list" and then it would give me a report for the new addition.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Jonathan

As you are drawing the existing put them on a separate layer (I usually label them Ex walls) and then uncheck the materials box for that layer.

Right click in any room and select, "Calculate Materials for this Room". x4 has this, right? Or from the Materials List menu, "Calculate Area".

Then edit/merge the list(s) in Excel, Google Docs, etc.
