    Looks like the NVidia 1500 is a 4 or 5 year old 'Quadra' card? With only 256k memory? That would explain the differences you are seeing in Chief's performance versus otherCAD.

    OtherCAD programs can utilize the Quadra's architecture where Chief performs better with a gaming card that runs Open GL. Not up on the latest NVidia offerings but others may know the sweet spot to get you the performance you need. As always get as much performance as you can afford.

    your budget should be closer to $2,000 rather than $1,000
