arched entryways with columns
I'm trying to put columns directly beneath an arched doorway, I've got 9.0, but haven't been able to make the columns slide into the doorway. I also am trying to make arched soffits, or soffits with an arch cutout within them. this sounds like CAD territory which is not my long suit, so any pointers would be helpful.
thanks

ktraut,
You slide them in using the "ctrl or Control" key. Arched solids can be drawn while in an elevation/cross section camera then convert the closed poly-line to a poly-line solid (see manual for details).

So in Chief 9 I don't have to export a CAD solid polyline and use an external cad program to rotate it so it appears properly in 3D views or do I still have to do that?

No, there is a polyline solid in chief 9 that you can get to from the elevation mode and make the arched ceiling.
