try running Win7 in Vista mode

use Vista driver for the hardware lock

even if it runs it may not run well

Got NEW HD Pro 7 to work on my Windows 7 machine

I had to jump through some hoops to do it, but a shout out goes out to this board, as it certainly helped point me in the right direction. Of course, it is running in XP VM mode, but so far so, so good. Once the Hasp4 new drivers were installed, install went seamlessly. Seems stable so far...

For $100 on Amazon (NEW, factory sealed) at first blush, it does not appear all that different from the 2012 demo edition of HD Pro, although I'm sure there are some. Enough to shell out an additional $395? Not likely.

After reading some threads reflecting CA's lack of support for older operating systems and THEIR own, older releases, I'm even less inclined to ever upgrade or purchase anything from CA, not at full retail anyways.

    Gib:

    sorry you feel that way

there have been 4 upgrades since ver 7
each one packed with new features (and fixes)

if ver 7 does the job for you that's fine

    good luck
