Electrical Connections

Why do the electrical connections switch to cad lines when I want to shorten them up? They turn into black solid cad lines and I have to delete them and make a connection again. I saw videos where it does it automatically and stay as electrical connections. How can I do that? Please help!

Turn off the "edit objects parts" tool.
