Stairs not connecting?

Have an issue with these stairs, they were connected and now they won't go back together even though the top height is the same. I don't know what happened. Using X3

Make sure you are in Stair Mode when trying to connect them.

Hi Heather,

I have found this "tool" a little "twitchy" to say the least (its great when it works but when it doesn't, well here we are...).

Each of the stair objects have to be EXACTLY the same in terms of their settings (treads, rise angle etc).

Perhaps a more scholarly type might chime in with some more precise advice but what I have done in the past that worked, every time was:

Make sure each stair object (run of stairs) is precisely set the same per object.
then insist that they work, by that I mean keep placing-locating them as you have been doing until you get the wanted-expected result.

Like Bryce said being in "Stair Mode" should help as well.

We are dealing with programming which requires exact conditions to work and when those are "there" it will work and when they are not (according to how the code is written), well you get the idea.

Not being a programmer or software Architect I can't say more with certainty than I have already said.

Object and Angle snaps should be "on" to assist you, Grid snaps should probably be "off".

I wish I could advise a "1,2,3" kind of solution but I am speaking from personal experience as opposed to knowing how the code is written.

Well I check the top two made sure they were the same in every way and try to connect and they wont. I give up.

You can try placing an elevation region at the bottom to make sure that is the same elevation where they hit.
