    Sutcac,
Your plan looks just about like my attempts.
Another probs w/ Ortho cross section is the door swings dont show as arcs like on the floor plans.

Photoshop is still another step, and the text is only one of the problems.

    I lie.

Took about 15 min. just don't want to finish it. I got bored.

    Andy,

No text, No door swing arcs, textures are solids as opposed to ummm,..textures.
Devil is in the details. I gave the builder something that looked just like this, and he hammered me on it. DOH!

Get busy with the rectangle tool Esmalls and create your own library of polylines with custom fills. Stick them on a layer so you can lose them when you dont need them and you want to put chief symbols in. You'll be ahead of the game bro.

Try sending a Top Ortho floor image to the layout and overlay with text there. The result is almost identical to Softplan. No need for you to lose business over this.

If your waiting on Chief to add this enhancement, you may be out out of business by that time.

CAD and text in ortho views could solve this quickly.

Dang it, Bryce is right again.

I would love to have this ability too.

I might play around with doing this by converting a plan to DWG, importing the DWG to a new plan and working with cad lines and fills.
If I can get it to work decently I will make a video, (hopefully before Scott does).

I think I have seen on here mention of sending colour elevations to layout with vector elevation layered over the top in layout to view there lines etc.

Unless I am making that up, why couldn't you send top ortho view with plan layered over the top?

I did a screen capture on an ortho view and it opened in my plan window. I had all the tools available to edit it. Even drew some new walls and placed doors etc. Dont know if this helps anyone.

Good thinking, but the problem with that is many times the 2D blocks for symbols don't match the actual ortho view. You can go to each symbol and "Generate Block" and that would help, but PITA. Also, you have to set the image as Back Group and go through all the 2D blocks and make sure there is No/Transparent Fill.

I think you'd be better off exporting the plan to DWG in a CAD detail and putting the image behind that. Still, this has brought up some good points. CAD and text on ortho views would be a great feature.

You know Killa, I tried this in a video.... problem was I could not use a BACK CLIP CROSS SECTION camera. I had to use the cross section slider. I had problems getting a good jpeg using the CSS, ..... so I gave up;. Yes, I was going to overlay the PLAN VIEW on top of the CSS JPEG, similar to what I did in the COLORED ELEVATION VIDEOS.
