Which polyline soid gets the hole?

First let me say that I am so much happier with X4. Having said that, I still can not place a poly-line hole inn the lower of two overlapping poly-line solids. I have to remove the p-line solid in order to put a hole in it. Is their a procedure that I do not know about?

Select the polyline you want the hole in - click the "Polyline Subtraction" tool - select polyline to make the hole

Interesting approach. I assume then you turn it into a psolid. In other words create shape then turn into solid versus psolid first.

It works in either sequence. The intersection-subtraction-union tools work on plines and psolids. You can also subtract a pline from a psolid.

Major difference between polyline solids and solids or shapes is that polylines ignore thickness and completely cut through the shape regardless of the intersection thickness. This is why polyline subtraction is only done in plan. Shape subtractions respect all dimensions. But shape dimensions can not be edited.
