    Thank You,

Sorry, the Ruby script I have is for windows and doors. Not sure how to convert it. I think Bill Emery made one for changing inches to feet and inches for room labels. I know someone has it.

I am trying to use the macro from Gerry
    arr = ceiling_elevation.round.divmod(12)
    "#{arr[0]}-#{arr[1].round}"
and it works great for a single story plan. When I have a 2 story, the ceiling heights are all from the 0 height. With a 1st floor ceiling height of 109 1/8", 11 7/8 TJI's and 3/4" Plywood, and a 2nd floor at 97 1/8", it shows 18'3" on the 2nd floor.
How do I get it to show 8'1" on the 2nd floor?

ID:	59832This macro will give you gross window area. It could be refined to output in square feet as well.
with the properties available now I can't do net glass area, or net opening area with a macro.

Anthony: I just woke up -- been busy -- Listed below are some videos which show how to do this if you haven't figured it out by now. Their OOD, but still applicable.

    BILL:

You can total window area by summing to a global variable. You can sum desired window areas by adding a identifying code to the window label. You can not cal net anything since it is impossible to identify which window is in which wall-- partly because walls carry no label or id.

    Hi Gerry,
Is this what you had in mind?
I don't have a background in programming so I'm usually looking for the simplest thing that will work.

    BILL:

No not really - But maybe I'm assuming something I shouldn't

I assume that what Anthony wanted was the total glazing area in a particular wall vs that wall area (net). As what is needed in Rescheck?

Not possible because objects in Chief do not carry available IDs or locations. I was alluding to a way in which you could do half of that by summing the glazing area of several selected windows.

Just another example of what would be possible if we had access to all the data.

Yes it is possible and won't say it's complicated, but confusing if you don't understand the extreme limitations in Chief.
Basically you have to assign a unique ID to every window manually as Scott does. After that your home free.
I will try to get the necessary steps together for Scott's demo. Doubt if I can make a video by then -- busy now. The existing videos hint at how but not clear enough if your not into programming. I did do a early video on how but lost it somehow.

I always question this, because the effort to assign IDs probably equals pencil and paper effort.

Best solution is to "bit**" to Chief about their lack of support. From their stand point, this is simple stuff and can be supported in a hundred different ways, but they won't get off their?
