OK, I tried my first raytrace with X4 -- AND IT CRASHED THE WHOLE PROGRAM! What's up with that?

This was an X3 plan that I just opened in X4 (and saved in X4), didn't make any other changes, just opened a camera view and tried to raytrace it, and got "A serious error has occurred" message. Is there a problem with using X3 plans in X4? Did I do something else wrong? I don't know what it could have been -- I haven't done anything at all besides this in X4 yet.

    Hey Dr.K!

Darn! I have had the exact opposite. Scenes would not render in X3, but WILL render in X4.

Do you have any custom textures that are super huge images? How bout poly-hogs. Got any of those?

Did you reboot and try again with the same result?

Did you ever try to raytrace the same scene in X3? If so, I suspect tech support would like you to send them both the X3 and X4 version of the file.

    Sorry.

    What a bummer.
