X4 is biased.
Unbiased would be (in Kerkythea) the MLT and PTP settings.
I believe the TR1 and TR2 settings in Thea are unbiased...Jonathan

Pat
I noticed you have a "GTX580" video card-nice. Everyone else, unless you have one, don't expect the rendering times she is getting. Good job.Perry

Pat,
I'm glad to see you digging in. I haven't had time. Haven't even been in Thea in a month. I'm thinking they've come far enough that I'll be able to do a mix. My quick shots I'll do in Chief - skip the time it takes to export, translate and import into Thea. For my bigger and more advance ones - not sure yet, probably some of each. The bigger and more sophisticated the image needs to be, the more worth it is to export.Wendy Lee Welton

I wrote code in 1984 to make my Sinclair 100 - so I used to be a programmer! So I can say with authority how easy it is to program Chief features! ;-)

Looks nice Pat! Just curious - is that bust a 3d object or an image? I like the sofa fabric too.

Very nice Pat!
good timing on your new machine.
Now I have to talk my wife into letting me put x3 on her new tower. Same specs as you except for 24g ram. I put it together for her recently for video editing. My first build, was a little nervous at first! What kind of cpu cooler did you opt for?

Glad you are up and running with your new machine Pat! Nice renders! As far as trying that scene in X3 as somebody suggested, you would not have gotten anywhere close. X4 is a huge improvement.
