Layout in X3
Greetings all,
I am new to this program, using the latest version X3. I would like to move plans to layout in preparation for printing. When I open new layout, I am given one layout sheet - how do I move to the next sheet in the layout??? This should be simple, but I can't figure it out. Please help!

on the layout toolbar you should see the page navigation tool

just click one of the arrows or click the number and enter the desired #

I am finding that the page navigation icon disappears at random and i have to use the tools/layout/page up/down command. Once I have changed pages using the tools command it usually reappears.
It doesnt happen often enough to really annoy but I suspect there is a small bug in there.Gordon Martinsen

Put that tool on your tool bar. Use "customize tool bar". Just drag it using all views.

Thank you for your replies. I found the page navigation tool and dragged it into the toolbar in layout. The tool is not active, however. Is there a setting I have to change to be able to use Floor/Reference tools in layout mode?

Nothing wrong with your install. This is user error.
You are getting confused with 2 completely different tools.
The plan view tool for Change Floor/Reference is only available in plan view - it doesn't work in Layout.
But the layout tool to Change Layout Page looks exactly the same as the Change Floor/Reference tool in plan view.
My guess is that you have placed the Change Floor/Reference tool on your layout toolbar by mistake. It doesn't work there and that is why it is greyed out.
In layout, you need to use the Change Layout Page tool instead and once again, you can't use Change Floor/Reference in layout - the program doesn't work that way - what would you expect to happen if it did?Last edited by Glenn Woodward; 04-05-2011 at 03:54 PM.

Hello again,
Just found out that I am using the home designer software, for which there is only one layout sheet per file. So that explains it, and tells me I've been posting in the wrong forum - my apologies! Thanks to all who took time to reply.
