We have been using these downspouts since V 9, maybe before that. Nothing new here at all.

But Richard is asking for other options, and nobody is giving him even a nod? I was curious to see if anyone is doing something else too. But I had to wade through 25 post about acronyms.

Richard, I have been doing the same as you for most, and using molding p-lines to get the odd stuff done. It would be nice to have a tool for this, but I wouldn't hold my breath. I don't show them in the plan view and they are "close enough" for most situations.

I use a Chief modified downspout that I have added an extra stretch plane to.
It stretches both vertically and horizontally without distortion.
After resizing, you can regenerate the 2D cad block automatically.

    Hey Rob,

look at post #26 by billemery (Roofs-Toolkit - I don't think any of my toolkits came forward with my old libraries) and post #27 by Pottenger(Chief Architect Premier SSA Content- I don't have that in my file tree).

I'm thinking that I've not brought my older libraries forward into X4 but I certainly have nothing referencing SSA Content and I've had SSA since it's inception.-BB

You need to download the SSA Premier content. We all had to do this.

    Thanks Gary,
where do I find the SSA Premier Content download? I don't see it in my digital locker or catalogue library on the Chief website.

OK, I guess I found it, it's just the bonus content stuff offered. Did you guys typically download everything or were you somewhat selective on the furniture and stuff. Looks like a huge download if you do it all at once?

Would think, downspouts would have been in the basic included library and grouped with gutters that are part of basic library core content.

Becoming increasingly difficult to get the information you need on this forum without having to wade through all the BS to get it. I am considering starting my Chief forum as an invite only so that I can weed out the amateur hour monotony we are being subjected to.

I'm surprised at the number of people who don't show it on the 2D plan.

The local building code here requires gutters and downspouts to go into a piped system (we get a lot of rain here). Because of the piped system requirement, I show downspout locations on the foundation plan for the contractor to place the piping correctly. It is also shown on my roof plan. On a complicated roof, downspout location can be very important.

On the other hand, I have never had the need to show it in 3D. So I have never used the CA symbol.
