How do I spin the house

I am a long time 9.5 user and the keyboard arrows always spun the house whatever direction I told it too without ever moving the house. After buying a new computer and installing X2, every time I press the arrow keys it just moves the whole house in that direction without ever spinning it, it just moves it accross the screen giving me the same point of view. Any ideas on how to change that? Thanks

Lot's of changes since 9.5 - You should be able to customize them to what you like.

Check 3D>Move Camera with Arrow Keys>Arrow - Orbit Camera.

    See if that helps.

    Dan,

I remember in previous versions you use to be able to use the camera and kind of pull and flick the mouse and it use to be able to rotate the house either super quick or anything in between.

I cant seem to do that anymore on x2 and x3, is there a better way to do that now?

    Chad:

I just tried it in X2 and it was a struggle but you need to click the left mouse and then flick the wrist in the desired direction

took many flicks before I could get it to rotate

maybe there is a default or preferences setting that controls the needed flick ???

mine is very "sticky" right now

    Chad:

best I can figure is to flick and release the left button at the same time but still very inconsistent and "sticky"

I have holding shift or ctrl or alt and they don't seem to have any effect ???

Yeah I remember in earlier versions it happened too easily as often times I would spin it accidentely without trying. I guess its better this way, even though sometimes it would be nice to have it the other way as well.

To spin house......CNTRL ALT S....... hit CNTRL ALT S again and it will spin in opposite direction. To control rate of spin PLAN DEFAULTS<CAMERA<GENERAL and change INCREMENTAL MOVE DISTANCE to 4" and change INCREMENTAL ROTATE ANGLE to 1 degree. Adjust setting to your liking.

Try it a second time, occasionly it does not respond. I assume you are looking at a camera view.

Try this... hit the H key, now try CNTRL ALT S...... you must hold down the CNTRL ALT before you hit the S key.

Actually, ctrl-alt-S brings up a dbx for my HP giving serial# etc ???

so I suspect it is over-riding chief

I may need to reassign that hot key sequence

I can not explain this, unless you have changed your hot keys. It has always worked for me for the last few years. Maybe somebody else can give a go to see if it works for them.
