Is there anything in chief that has a drop down lighting light or is it something that has to be done manually?

There are pendant type lights and chandeliers available in the library or you can find more on the Internet. You can also move the location of "light sources" up or down for lighting purposes when doing renders and raytraces. Can you be more specific as to what exactly you are looking for?
