    X3 Walls frame to roof

Has any one figured out the setting to get the walls to frame to the rafters?
Some times it frame right, some times not..

Allen, are you seeing this first-hand, or are you getting plans modeled by someone else, then proceeding to frame them?

I am not seeing this behavior when I build a model.

    Hi Gene
    From someone else.
I'm thinking it might be where the Baseline is..
It still shouldn't be framing like that..

Baseline elevation is the roof plane's pivot point in 3D space, and fixes framing member top there. Something other that baseline is causing your behavior, I think.

Allen, I think you're on the right track.

It looks like they set their roof plane too low when they created it.

I'm pretty sure the only way to improve the framing is to drop the ceiling height of the affected room.

You can see the ceilng plane is about 8 to 12 inches above the junction of rafter and wall.

    Two ways to fix.
    1 - raise roof
    or
2 - lower ceiling in this and any other room under this roof.

Ceiling height plus VRD - bird's mouth = baseline.

    ??
I looked closer and closer at your example. Not so sure I'm on the right track now.

I wonder if they have it set to use Trusses?

Might be the setting they had on was to build roof using trusses.

I changed the parameters of the example plan so it uses trusses and I get the same placement of rafter on outer edge and top of plate. Doesn't appear to have a Bird's Mouth cut at all.

Truss function would assume the bottom chord is bearing on the plate and stops the frame at lowest portion of roof member.

I wonder if they send you plans built using trusses?
