Okay, what is the deal with the circled area? The plants "ghosted" for some reason.

Hard to tell from the size of your image but I would say it might be too much sun and the color of the plant cause that effect. I am just guessing but that's what it looks like to my untrained eye.

I think your image would look better if the sun wasn't so bright ... but maybe that is the brightness you're trying to achieve? I suspect it gets pretty sunny in Lubbock so that's probably what locals are used to seeing.
