ghost image
Just reinstalled X1 on a new computer running Win7. Nice new 32" 1920x1080 monitor. The old system died in an office fire...beware of faulty surge protectors!
Anyway when I swith from plan view to an elevation view I get a ghost image of the plan view each time I move the mouse! The more I move the mouse the more it fills in until I can't see the elevation view at all. I scroll in or out and it disappears.
Most bizarre!
Is there another thread that deals with this?
I posted this in the off-topic forum too.

X2 was the first version of Chief that was supported on Windows 7.

yes, but not from CA
check this forum and EBAY
and maybe some online retailers with leftover copies ???
be sure you are getting a legal copy that is upgradable and can have the license transferred
transfer fee is usually $50 but can be a lot more for non-full versions like lite or 2nd seats etc

You should be able to make X1 work with Windows 7. You might have to put it into Vista compatibility mode or turn off desktop composition or run as administrator. Try doing a search here for Windows 7 to see what solutions have worked for others.

Dermot:
may be you can create a "sticky" list for which versions run on which OS
I keep trying to memorize it so I can answer these posts and it's difficult
then when someone asks the question we can point them to the "sticky"

I have noticed that X1 on Windows 7 locates dimension lines differently than it does on Windows XP. This is using the same exact plan, same exact configuration settings for Chief on both Windows 7 and XP. Nothing you can't work around but if you jump between XP and 7 can make you wonder what is happening.
