    Floor/Ceiling Heights

Im really going crazy with this one. My company does a lot of basement remodeling and every once in a while I run into a problem like this. I must be hitting a wrong radio button or something. I have the basement foundation laid out, the back wall is framed. The interior basement walls are already framed, so all I need to do is draw the interior spaces such as bath, bar ect.... The problem is when I go to close the bathroom walls to make it a room. My ceilings for the whole basement are 109", but when I close the final wall to the bathroom, it changes to 97 1/8". If I break the wall back open, everything goes back to 109". Any quick advise on what I might have done to cause this? I will attach a plan as well.

As a side note, I am very thankfull for this site and the people on it. Ive been using chief since version 8 and wouldnt be half as compitent with the software, if not for this group.

    Check your floor defaults

chief loves to revert to the defaults

so when you create a new room it looks to the defaults

also if you have various rooms set at heights different than the defaults and then lose room definition it will revert to the default which is what's happening to you

You need to close out of the file then zip it.

You can change the default ceiling heights in the default tool bar to whatever you want.
Just like changing the font default for the text used.

Thanks Lew, Andy and Gene. The defaults got me to where I needed to be. I still dont have a grasp on it though. Learning curve.

    Thanks,

    Mike
