Building Deck

Who knows how to build deck. Building deck from second level. Have been trying for several days to insert post and lattice with no luck getting pretty tired. Please help

1. Be on the 2nd floor (of plan view)
2. Draw the deck (with the deck railing tool)
3. (In order for Chief to draw posts and footings, you need to have the foundation level of the house in place)
4. Once drawn, select the deck and Click on the "advanced deck framing" button
5. The auto framing drawn by chief is all moveable. You can select posts, pier footings and beams and move them about. Chief draws in a generic amount of framing. You can add/delete/move as you need for the way you will build it.

I found it easier to create the upper deck and then create the lower patio

with the lower patio in the way the advanced deck tool wouldn't create the posts or footers

you also have a terrain perimeter and build your terrain first

If you go to the help menu you will find tutorials under the contents section. The house design tutorial/ build second floor has a second floor deck.

Hi, building a deck can be tough especially if its your first time. To help you get started, search fro some tutorials online. It could also be better if you offered more specific information regarding what you want to build if you are looking for detailed answers.
