You could try doing the entire bay using the thinner wall and then add the brick with a polyline solid and the exterior sill (or cap over the masonry) using a custom molding.

I will give that a try.
It would seem this is a very common situation. It would be great if windows in 2 joined walls would mull together at the corner.
Hopefully X3 will be better
