windows in thick walls
Does anybody know how I can acurately draw bay windows with chief?
I would like to draw the windows as attached pic.
Chief seems to have real trouble with thick walls.
The lower wall in this 300mm thick made up of 100 block 100 cavity then 100 brick.
I have tried inserting windows but because the wall is thick the windows wont connect casings at the corners. I did try the bay window feature with the same problems. I then tried using pony walls & inserting the windows in the upper wall using a 100mm upper wall. the problem is then that the walls dont connect properly at the sides of the bay.
Any suggestions

You could try doing the entire bay using the thinner wall and then add the brick with a polyline solid and the exterior sill (or cap over the masonry) using a custom molding.

I will give that a try.
It would seem this is a very common situation. It would be great if windows in 2 joined walls would mull together at the corner.
Hopefully X3 will be better
thanks for your help

Nice job w/ the tutorial, David. You certainly have a handle on the Bay window tool. Looks good on the inside too w/ the top & bottom pulled up.
I guess the only reason now to do it "long hand" is if you want to use a different wall type for the bay.
