It isn't recommended by most people. A clean install is best and if you are going from 32 to 64 bit is really is a must.
Karl:
I thought it was XP to Win 7 that required the clean install ???
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/w...a-to-windows-7
clean install is probably needed for 32-bit to 64-bit
I have Vista 64-bit so I forgot about those with 32-bit
If I ever need Win 7 I'll research this more

MacBook Pro Questions
My PC motherboard just fried itself and I'm getting a lot of pressure to go Mac from the Graphic side or our office. I'm going to have to get something to keep working pretty quickly here.
Who's running Chief X3premier an an iMac or MacBook? and what is your Mac cofiguration?
Is it as sharp and fast as a new PC with an i7?
Are my current Chief files fully readable in a Chief/Bootcamp installation?John Britton AIA/CEA,CEPE

Been running X3 on my iMac in Bootcamp for 6 months now with no problems. Don't really have anything to compare it to since I've never run it on a PC machine.

Toshiba Satellite P500
I don't see anything wrong with the specs
but I'm also not familiar with that CPU or video card
do a google search on 'toshiba p500 review" and read lots of reviews
I also see the P505 but didn't take time to find out what the difference was
1920 x 1080 screen resolution (HD) could be desirable
if you will be using battery a lot then a 12 cell battery is justified
personally I never use a laptop battery

Narrowing it down
Too many questions with Mac/Bootcamp to deal with right now, soooo ...
Current PC build out looks like:
ASUS P6X58D-E (up to 24mb ram possible)
i7 930
NVidia GTX 465
I think this is the first mention of trying a GTX4series card in this forum; any other users or comments on the GTX4series? is this a step up from the 200series. The GTX400's are about $250.
