Chief ver 9.54 No imperial measurement option

My Dimensions changed to metric and the Default Dimension option does not show an Imperial Dimension choice any longer. I tried installing the 9.5 to 9.54 upgrade and that didn't help. Also tried resetting the defaults and rebooting.

Double click the dimension tool button to bring up the dimension defaults, then click on the set-up tab and you can check Imperial

You might be opening a metric template plan.
Think they can not be changed in your version..

Check your preferences dialog. I know in V10 and newer, there is an option to start your new plans in either metric or imperial. This controls the underlying units that the plan is using. Once a plan has been started, you can't change the units at a later time.

If you don't see this option in the preferences, it might actually be hidden in the menu. I know we did this with really old versions of Chief but I can't remember when we switched over to using the preferences. Try this (if it is not in preferences), open Chief, close the new blank plan, and then check the File menu.

Regarding the display of dimensions, if you start a plan in imperial units, you can display your dimensions in either imperial or metric or both. This only controls the display of your actual dimension lines though and your plans are still stored internally in imperial units.

If you start your plan in metric, you can only display your dimensions in metric units. In X2, you can display your dimensions in whatever units you like regardless of what units your your plan is started with.
