"show reference-floor toggle" where did it go?

I've lost another of my buttons!

Where is the "show reference-floor toggle". Must we go up to the menu bar for it? It's very useful and I'd love to get it back. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks, Cheryl

Those tools should be showing on the right hand side of the screen just above your zoom tools. They will only show if you have more than one floor. If they still do not show, try going to Tools->Customize Toolbars, then click on the Toolbar tab and click to reset toolbars. This should bring them back.-

    Matt,

I have had this occur a couple of times (not recently, since the 1-6-2000 patch). At the time, I could reboot Chief or use the show floors icon and it would reappear.

Did you modify the toolbars? How about your screen resolution? What screen res area you running?

Look at your standard toolbar. When you click on the wall tool, are the children visible to the right of the command box? If not, they are off screen to the right and your screen resolution needs to be reset to at least 800 x 600.

I run at 1280x1024 32 bit true color which is all the real estate I can gleen out of my 8 meg.'s of video. Just out of fun, I'll try reducing it to 1024 x 768 to see if its a resources px of my hardware.

Well, IBuild, you were on to something - just in the other direction. One of 2 things happened: my 8 megs of video ram 'taint nuf; or the cold boot after a night off did the trick. I had tried warm boot yesterday.

Once again this board has proven invaluable! A'int that a deal.

    CCC,

Also Chief runs best at 16 bit color, Dean Johnson says he runs 24 bit with no problems but having it set at 32 bit will cause problems all by itself ie: bmp and wmf exports and other problems.

Thanks, what you are saying is true per my machine. We are a construction company that takes a million 2.1 hi res. digital photos of our jobs. Thus, I usually have the color res. set to 32 bit.

I had been reviewing photos of the site just before starting the drawing. I believe that I would have noticed a woosy looking rendering had I gotten that far. I was just trying to draw the 2nd floor when i noticed my botton had left town.

HOWEVER: today I can have my button and 1280 real estate to draw on! Go figure! (I'm sure that Chief's backgrounds & tex. will be funky, however.)
