CMU Walls for a Garage with triple plates
Hi,
Anyone have an easy way to draw a garage wall that is made of 8" CMU and has triple 2x8 plates?
Tried a few differnt ways and not getting the desired results.
I am also adding a roof over an exterior area that would be similar to a roof over a patio. It will have a beam to hold the roof framing and 6x6 posts. Getting the low pitch roof to tie to the existing roof is a challenge as well
Thanks

If it's a garage wall w/ no floor system on top of the stem wall...........
you can specify the wall to have 2 bottom plates in the wall framing dbx, & then the sill plate when build floor framing gives you 3.
Once you have the garage walls built w/ the double bottom plate, retain the garage wall framing, & change the double plate setting back to a single plate, if needed.
The roof, ........... "join roof planes"?
post a screen capture?

That'll give you your 3 2x plates. Whether they're 2x8's is dependent on the wall thickness.
2x8 wall........no problems.
