How to get the new style X2 menus

    Hi,
I know I have seen this before, but cannot find the answer by doing a search of the threads.
I am using X2 but it appears I have the old style menus, dialog boxes etc.
How do you toggle to the new style.
Driving me nuts and it is too late.
    Thanks

Try Preferences > Appearance for starters. You also can look into the Tools > Toolbars & Hotkeys > Toolbar Customization ... look through the tabs and see what's there. If you need to, watch the pertinent videos and/or read about them in the manual.

Thanks Curtis for the tips. I watched 3 plus hours of videos last night, reviewed the help tips, checked the manuals and still could not locate the info.
For some reason, my dialog boxes look like the older version such as CA 10, bt in the videos, they are much more graphic looking.
Anyone know how to get the new look? Know I have seen it before, but cannot find it when I need it
    Thanks

    Dick:

Can you post an image or two of what yours currently look like? If you using a clean install of X2 and have the latest update installed, you should be seeing the X2 toolbars, dialog boxes and menus.

    Dick,

I think that you will find that this is OS dependent.
You can change it to some extent with the Themes in Display Properties.

    Dick,

This can be changed but doesnt have anything to do with chief. you have to go to control panel, appearances, themes. You can customize it too, I did and one computer its turquoise and green my other one is yellow, orange and red blended.

You can end up spending a lot of time on it because you can customize everything down to your arrow.

    Good luck!

    HI,
    Thanks for the replies.
I just want it to look like the defaults in the CA Videos, so if anyone will let me know what they are that would be great.
Leave it to MS to muck things up.
I am using XP Prof with SP2.
    Thanks

Maybe one is the windows classic appearance and one not? If so do the following:
Start-settings-control panel-folder options. YOu can change it there.
I still use the classic. (old dog)

    HI
Thanks to everyone for the help.
I thought I had the XP standard, but I still had the window classic. Made the changes and it matches the videos.
Something so simple took so long to find, but thanks to this forum, got it solved.
