    floating dormer and ceiling plane

Attached are views of a floating dormer and what seems to be an adverse reaction to a custom ceiling plane below. This is a test plan for a scissor truss roof with a dormer condition. I was hoping to use an auto dormer for this, but the ceiling causes the dormer walls to disappear. any ideas why?

    thanks

    Hi Peter:

I had similar problems but with an earlier version of Chief. Can you zip your test plan and post it here? Is your floating dormer's outside wall inboard of the main level exterior wall (looks like it)?

    Peter:

Got a message that said the shortcut to your plan was unavailable. Maybe I will just build a simple plan with scissor trusses and see if I can get a floating dormer to work.

Custom ceilings and auto dormers don't seem to behave well together. I will do some more investigation to see what I can figure out.
