Creating / Selecting Footings
This seems simple...but I just can't seem to figure it out....
I've created walls for existing and new foundations, but I'm not sure how to control the dotted lines for the footings. When I draw either an existing or new foundation wall the footing is a new footer.
In my layer display options I've got "footings -existing" and "footings - new", but "footings-new" controls all of the footings.
So, how do I select just the footing to change the layer???
Thanks in advance

When using a poly-line monolithic slab your choices are limited since the poly-line resides only on a single layer.
Through its dialog you can adjust where the dotted line (footing extents) appears but that is about it.
Using foundation walls gives a little more control.
What I often end up doing especially for slab on grade when working with an Engineer is a combination of poly-line slabs, 2-D CAD lines and white-out boxes to properly portray foundations.
The reason I like to use 2-D CAD is that I can more easily control it and its appearance using custom layers or custom layer assignments.
Since the footing is part of the wall object I do not believe you can "change the layer" of just the footing otherwise than what I have suggested above.
