    Wall Joins

I'm new to chief architect version X2. I cant seem to make the walls join
correctly to exterior walls. I feel like there is a setting somewhere I'm
overlooking. I have searched the forums but have not found anything
in which the walls join like this.
    Thanks for any help

Sorry to ask, but where is this wall dbx? I have looked at several Dialogue boxes but for the like of me I havent seen the right wall dbx. Could you explain how to access the right thing.
Thanks so much for your time

    Roy,
The exterior wall (brick?)....... change the main layer to the framing layer. Walls join from their main layers.

    Thanks Lew
I found the setting but it did not solve the problem. The walls go back to
    the way they were.

Im not sure I understand jim's post. Please forgive my Ignorance, but this is only my second day using chief architect. I do understand the layer system, Im just not sure what jim was meaning to do with it.
I have used Vectorworks for 9 years and trying to wrap my mind around the way Chief works.
    Thanks again for some help

    Roy:

look at the settings in wall definition dbx you can change which wall layer to align to, choose the main layer

this is the dbx where you specify how walls are to be assembled

Seeing as how this is only your 2nd day, I would suggest some time spent w/ the training videos (if you're on SSA), & in the manual, so that you "truly" understand wall layers.
Give yourself a good solid understanding of walls, 'cuz it just gets more "complicated" as you go along.

Roy, select your wall and open it. Click on the wall types tab> then click the define tab>select the radio button in the upper left where your framing is. Then you'll notice that the framing layer in the display window will be sticking out a little farther than the other. This means that it is now set to the main layer and your walls will join there. This will fix your problem probably. see images. BTW, this setting will change for all other walls of the same wall type. I would do this for all other wall types as well.

You're welcome. The framing layer in the wall dbx is set for the main layer by default in Chief. At one time, you must have changed it for whatever reason..
