    Lites in Broken arch window

No matter what I do, I can't get the middle horizontal muntin to go away.
    Any ideas?

I've given up on auto-lites in broken arch windows.

I just CAD in some lines and load muntins.

Well, it used to work for me, too.
I get the same thing in a new plan.

In my V.10.08.b, I can get a radial array of muntins without the horizontal, in a broken arch, but not unless the arch is dropped to a figure that is more than half the height of the window.

And I find that "half plus just a little" won't do it.

In my trial here, I do a fixed window, 72 wide by 24 high, then make it a broken arch with a 12 inch drop, and attempt to put in a radial array of muntins. No good. I get Jim's unwanted full width horizontal.

Then change drop to 12.5. Still no good. 13. Still no good.

At a drop of 13.5, I cross some kind of programmer's threshold, because then the radial array looks OK. No horizontal.

Can you not just select your own using a regular window?

I will be glad to make a video on it.

David, do a broken arch window by first making a fixed window, rectangular, 72 wide by 24 tall.

Change it to a broken arch by operating in the tabbed arch spec box, select "broken," key in a drop of 13 inches. Now select the lites tab and place a radial array of, say, 5 lites.

    Jim,

What are the dimensions of the window?
What arch type have you selected and if a variable arch what did you set the radius to?

    Mine is ' Fixed - 60 x 18 - Broken Arch=8" '

Is yours set to a sash?

Here is what I get in V.10

Top one is what David did for size and drop. 60w x 18h x 8 for the arch drop.

Bottom one is what I have been playing with as my test size. 72w x 24h. I tried the 8 drop and look what happens.

    Strange and inconsistent behavior.

    72 x 23

    Try that.

I see what you mean now, when I exceed to 24" or more in height, it pops to top layer and I have to mod the window to get it right.
