    shed roof patio cover

I need to draw up a patio cover that anchors to side of two-story house on a ledger with 4 posts and beams at exterior. I have been using x2 now for a couple of months but cannot figure out how to do what I thought would be a simple build. I can't find any thing in training videos or in the forum archives.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Draw a roof plane. Adjust elevation and pitch as necessary. Draw a roof beam, check elevation. Place posts.

I normally draw them manually placing the post objects after I have the roof plane where I want it, like what Rusty offers.

It can be done using railing walls and auto-roof generation setting the wall that the roof plane bares on to the intended shed roof pitch and the perpendicular walls set to "Full Gable Walls" similar to what is shown via the "Roof Styles" tab of the "Build Roof" dialog for "Shed Roofs".
The railing walls in this case are set to "No Rail" and "Post to Beam"; you set the number of posts thus generated via the "Newels and Balusters" tab in terms of their spacing and number.

Like I said I prefer the manual method but sometimes use the "Railing Wall" method as well.

Here is another "food for thought". This is just a corregated metal carport with steel posts. Made this out of polyline solid and slabs.
