Plan Outline
I can't remember how, but isn't there an easy way to generate a plan outline to be used on a site drawing?

There are several ways.
I commonly just create a "Site Plan" set of layers and use the house model for that purpose with the layers set the way I want.
Or if you have X2 and the SSA go here.

IMO, David's way is the best if he's meaning a "Site Plan" layerset with layers for that layerset.

David,
Are you able to make a plan footprint outline (or polyline) on your layerset? I thought that was only available in a cad detail window.Len Dalton

OK, I re-read now a few times. Maybe I'm slow. I'm not finding the answer to my question. And I watched two of the videos he linked.
The original post asked for "an easy way to generate a plan outline to be used on a site drawing?"
David responded, "There are several ways.
I commonly just create a "Site Plan" set of layers"
Are there several ways to do a plan outline? Can it be done on a layer for a site plan layerset? I only know of how to do that on a cad detail, and that is what the video leads me to believe.Len Dalton

You missed a little bit in David's reply. He says that he's using a "house model" for the outline which is what you would be doing if you're doing a site plan from a layerset. If you're okay with using a footprint in a cad detail, that's okay too.

Len
I believe they are saying to use the Terrain as your plot plan rather than just cad lines.
Then the model will look like it should in real life.
Depends how much time you want to spend on it.
First few might take longer..........

Tommy
It sounds like your doing every thing except converting the outline to a terrain perimeter...........

If need be, I'll post an example. Our siteplans are basically the survey with our house (model) positioned on it. A siteplan.
