    Roof Overbuild

    Hello:
I am trying to create a roof overbuild on this garage.

I used the manual roof planes to create the roof planes, but I can't get a wall to generate the gable end.

    Can anyone help please?

    Thanks
    Abe

Build the gable end wall on the attic level, then open the dbx for that wall and under general tab list it as an attic wall and under the roof tab check the roof cuts wall at bottom. That might get you what you want.

put a wall under it on the next floor up. make the roof layer referenced so you can see the gable on the next floor. might have to adjust it in elevation.

By the way, you have a CEILING for your rafters at gable end showing. Click on the little dormer roof and open the dbx and under options unchecking ceiling, this will eliminate that extra PLANE that is showing up on your view.

Wherever you build the wall, CA might cut the wall under the main roof plane. Try using the skylight tool to create a hole in the main roof plane. This will allow your wall to generate through and cut uner the roof overbuild. You can hide the layer the roof hole is on so that it does not show in your roof plan.
