material list
I have been working with material lists with regard to drywall. I have learned that making custom walls with a modified drywall (change the name) allows seperation and identification of the origin of the drywall when viewed in the material list. Is there a way to mark the framing of a wall, etc.. that will allow it to be identified in a material list?

After the walls are framed, the framing information will appear in the Components dbx......Select any wall, open the Component dbx, and change the Description of the framing material, so that it is unique. As an example, add #1 at the end of all the framing material descriptions, for the first wall, #2 for the second, etc. (fir plate #1 fir stud #1).......This is for testing only, to see where materials are located....Once you do this, do not group select walls and open the Components dbx, or all the walls will change to the same number. You can open individually, but not all together.
