How to deal with possessed arrow attachments
Arrows like to do squirrelly things when you things under or near them. Stretch a layout box and arrows can become possessed. Similar things can happen in plans, sections, elevations...
A sneaky way to tame them: Select the arrows, Ctrl-X to delete them and store them on your windows clipboard. Make your edits, then Ctrl-alt-V will put the right back where they belong, pointing right where they always dis.
If your edits will require the use of the window clipboard, park them in a new blank plan file (again with Ctrl-Alt-V or Paste/hold) for safe keeping. When you're ready to bring them back, copy (Ctol-C) or cut (Ctrl-X) and paste/hold (Ctrl-Alt-V) works like a charm.Wendy Lee Welton

Ctrl-Alt-V aka Paste/hold is one of my favoritist of all useful things in Chief. It works on everything. You can park an entire garage or addition in a separate plan file and then bring it back when you're ready for it. Try that on a construction site!Wendy Lee Welton

Scott,
You need to hold SHIFT+marquee select.
Otherwise it tries to draw an arrow...
And also you need the "Text Line with Arrow" tool to select only
arrows. Otherwise the "Leader Line" tool will select the text also...Jonathan

I'll have to try these arrow tricks.
I have just been deleting them and drawing new ones rather than use up all my bad words for the day..........

Here's a way to easily update camera images like perspective overviews, 3D renderings, 3D vector views, raytraces, etc. in your layouts:

It saves me a lot of time updating layout when I'm doing revisions.

And I thought only group selecting was the way to do it. I guess you learn something new everyday!

I haven't been on Chieftalk in awhile, so I don't know if this has been done...
bidders responded well to this new graphic I tried: to (kind of) show new framing for an addition:
vector overview of house, send to layout. Grey out lines and patterns with layout editor. back to overview, change layersets or layers to show new floor & rafter framing (wall framing is overkill for the graphic). Send to layout. line up both layout boxes if you move them around and need to. clean up. voila!John
