problem with elevations
I have a house with a balcony that is forward of the building. The material for the balcony is different from the wall material. The balcony wall is 1 metre high and has a floor joist depth of 400 mm which makes a total of 1.4 metres high from the outside. When I produce the elevation the 1 metre section of the balcony is the correct surface material and the 400 mm floor joist depth is a different maretial (they are meant to be the same). I have tried to locate the red hadles for the balcony wall and bring it down but it won't allow that to happen, infact I can't even locate the handles. I can locate other handles on the elevation but not the one's I need. Is there any way to alter the base of the balcony.
regards,
Mike

I'm assuming the balcony walls are solid railings....Railings can not be edited in elevations...
Have you rebuilt the Floors and Ceilings? If so the exterior wall layer material for the wall should extend down over the rim of the balcony...or you can go to Options>Defaults Setup>Material Defaults and change the material for Walls/Soffits to match the exterior material of your balcony wall...

Wall poly-lines that have been changed to "railings" in plan view are not thereafter editable in elevation cameras. You would have to uncheck the "railing" atrtribute in order to then edit the wall poly-line in elevation views.
Were I you I would take Tim's advice in most cases.
