    Tracng, not ray tracing

It is possible with Chief Architect to load in an image file that has on it terrain elevation lines, and having it in the background of CA while you trace over it and set the elevations on your plan?

We have elevation data on our block of land as a hard copy. I am looking to scan it, and find some software that I can use to trace over it. Should I be looking at CA or some other solution?

    Yes.

You can load it in as a picture and then scale it to the correct size. And then trace it.
