auto generating ceiling framing
Hi
I have a problem generating ceiling framing, but only when I have created a 2nd floor - the check box for floor 1 ceiling framing disappears - I also see that when generated the ceiling framing (lowered) should run at 90 degrees to the floor 2 subfloor.
Can anyone please help with this strange happening - what am I doing wrong?
Thanks and regards from the South Pacific

Bruce, if you have a 2nd floor, then the 1st floor ceiling is really the 2nd floor, floor framing. If you have a "lowered" ceiling for the 1st floor, then when you build the floor framing, Chief will build it all as one platform. In other words, if you have a 12" floor system for the 2nd floor and you have a 12" "lowered" ceiling for the first floor, then Chief will look at it as being a 24" platform when framing. Do a backclip of the area and you'll see what I mean. Correction- It will only frame the platform.
If you want the lowered ceiling to frame separately, you might try using ceiling planes.Last edited by Tommy Blair; 11-15-2008 at 05:51 PM.
