Roof hole across a ridge
I have a second floor that I want to project up through a first floor roof. I made a roof hole through one of the roof planes, but cannot drag and enlarge that roof hole across the ridge and into the opposing plane. Do I need to make another roof hole in that opposing plane? Is there a better way to do this?
thanks

Peter,
Auto build roof & it should take care of that for you. Or you could manually build 2 separate roof planes on either side of the 2nd floor room.Glenn Zankey

I would recommend doing all your floor plan (walls, room definitions, etc.) work for both floors before you build the roof.Curt Johnson

I ended up reflect copying the first roof hole, then using temporary points to break and join planes. I will also try auto build

Peter:
For a different look, you might consider flattening the lower roof pitch a bit to keep its ridges below the upper roof's eaves; and/or you might raise the ceiling height/roof baseline of the upper roof so the lower roof isn't climbing onto the upper roof. Just an idea ... something to think about for appearance and/or ease of construction.Curt Johnson

Peter, as a general rule, roof holes only work on one roof plane at a time.
