Best way to draw Plumbing Schematics

Need advise for the best way to draw Plumbing Schematics. I picked up this part time job that I need to draw schematic for pool industry. So the completed package is going to be multiple sheets with outdoor buildings, pools, etc.

I have an old Autocad Lt that I started the drawings, only because it is my comfort level.

    Quest for being a professional!

Chief doesn't have plumbing schematic tools, you will need to do everything in cad. chief X1 did add various line types but that's it.

Can you post a pic of the type of schematics you need ???

I use the X1 primitive cylinder tool for 3D pipes and filled CAD boxes for 2D pipes in plan view. These are on special 3D and 2D pipe layers. It's an awkward method and I'm hoping X2 adds some plumbing capability.

Make the house model & site plan then create a new layer called Plumbing cad or something. Set this layer as your default in the cad default dbx.

Look in the line styles dbx they have things you can use as good pipe size references. Click the line you want and increase the line weight to something big like 150 or such to make a big fat line.

This works great, play with it a bit, you'll like it.

This 3D method might work for you ???

Check out the 3 layersets for the risers and how they change when you click on the camera.
