    Railing Walls

Hello, using x1 and wondering if you can have railing walls (defined) and keep them from creating a railing next to stairs...
Rephrasing here.... How do you keep Railing Walls (yes railing walls) from creating a "hand rail effect" next to stairs...

Scenario: I have a yard design and most of it we built it out of railing walls to be able to manipulate the planter heights, and any other wall that needed to be set to a predefined height, now we have several "floor elevations" and we need steps to connect between them... well, if we have a railing wall where we need the steps, they automatically want to do what they are suppose to, and create a "handrail next to the stairs"... How do you tell chief not to "see" the stairs and keep the "railing wall horizontal".
Handrails are built separate from the wall, the wall must be a "railing wall" and mantain itself horizontal.

    Thanks!

    Jorge:

Can you post a picture of what you have so far and identify the problem area?

I played around with that a bit and saw exactly what you are talking about. I think the best thing may be to convert them all to regular walls and set the heights manually in elevation using temp dimensions maybe for precision.

Tedious, I know, but I couldn't see another way.

Thanks for the replies, I would definitely like to see a radio button to tell chief NOT to build the railing next to the stairs here.... I did change the offending railings to normal walls...
    Thanks again!
