Wall Height Question
Getting a bit confused here.
What do I have to do to have the wall be 1800 high? The Room Specification dialog displays the correct Ceiling height (B) at 1800.
The beam I am trying to place on top of the wall is also set to the correct Bottom Height of 1800.
However, in both cross section and 3d views there is a gap between the top of the wall and the bottom of the beam?
What am I doing wrong?
Many thanks in advance.Last edited by PTV; 11-18-2008 at 07:03 PM.

Perhaps the wall can be dragged up using the 3-D wall editor. This may not be the proper way to do it but I have recently struggled with a similar problem and that's how I got the wall heights to behave.
Rebuilding walls, floors, ceilings did not fix the gaps (and overlaps... this was a multi-story house).Jay

Foundation ceiling hts are calculated to include the treated sill plate that sits on top of the foundation wall. If you zoom in, you will likely find that the distance between the two is 1-1/2". (or some metric equivalence)
As we like to say, "Draw it like it's built". If you will be putting some treated lumber between those two items, I would go ahead and put it there. If not, you will either have to adjust the beam ht or the ceiling ht, depending on the exact situation of how it will be constructed.Last edited by Allen Brown; 11-11-2008 at 04:58 AM.

If you draw framing, you will find that the sill plate will probably fill that space.

Thanks guys,
Although the plate is included in the ceiling height calculation, the plate is only produced if the main layer of the wall above is a framing type.
In this case a DPC is sufficient so I set the Width and Height for the treated sill plate in the Foundation Defaults to zero to have the wall draw at correct height.
Cheers
