Time for a shower
I've had mine, but the plan I am using to train myself some more, needs a shower. A custom one, in a corner, with frameless glass panels around.
See the plan, attached, into which I have thrown a polyline showing the approximate shape of the base. I would like for the plan to show the pan, glass panels in place, and the swing of the door, which might best be hinged R, across that clipped corner.
The base and curb can be a collection of p'line solids, as well as the tiled walls on two sides. I have a shower control plus head set I can place.
But how about glass panels, and a swinging glass door? Any hints about workarounds for these? I'm a newbie.Gene Davis

Try using a single layered wall (thin 1/2" or so) for the glass. Then you can place a door and make it narrow too.
There are other ways to do it too. I use slabs for the curbs and polyline solids in elevations for the tiled walls.Tommy Blair

As an alternative, I made glass panels and a framed door (framed) that I use also for certain situations.

Thanks, Tommy.
I'm starting off by making a p'line solid 3/8 thickness, standing up like a shower enclosure panel, and am not getting the transparency I would like. I am in V10, and used the "glass-standard" material right out of the library to texture the p'line solid.
Any hints for getting shower enclosure glass to look better?
Edit: OOPS! Silly me! I dug into the "editability" of materials (first time for this newbie) and am now seeing how to tweak all the rendering variables, like (duh!) "transparency." I'm off building a shower enclosure!Last edited by Gene Davis; 11-09-2008 at 10:15 AM.
