fences, railings and etc.
Hi All........another unusually question....when laying in a fence or a install a railing across a window....why is it that you cannot place a railing between window opening or door opening.....you have to turn the railing 90 degrees to see it properly....later, POP,,,see attached

If you mean a symbol railing you use alternate move or control key-left click-drag to shove the railing into the wall or window casing.
If you mean railing walls then you must have three railing walls, open below/no ceiling in the "room" dialog thus formed.
The "why" is in Chief natively solid objects are programmed by default to avoid occupying the same space as other "solid" object as in the real world.
The 90d thing I have not seen myself but it may be that the symbol you are using is not properly programmed for the symbol and 2-D CAD block to match in application which you can edit using the "Open-Edit Symbol" dialog; you may have to redraw the plan view CAD block. (symbols are represented in plan view using an associated 2-D CAD block which represents the object in plan view; the rest of the symbol is represented in 3-D with a separate set of 3-D CAD lines)

POP,
Use a railing wall, on the railing tab select panels, on the newels/baluster tab, panel type go to the library and select a wrought iron panel. Make it a no room definition railing.Last edited by louis; 11-06-2008 at 02:50 PM.
