Mono Truss won't reach over wall

Hello to All- I have tried repeatedly to get a mono truss to go over
my rear wall to no avail and need help. I first tried to work with ceiling planes
and roof planes. I just tried with room ceiling checked and roof plane.
I want my truss to have an energy heel and then the top chord to be extended
for an overhang. I have tried to move the roof base line back and forth.
Here is a pic of what I am getting. PLease Help !! Tresa fr NM.

Did you start your roof plane from the inside or the outside of the exterior wall? You should build your roof plane from the outside of the wall.... not inside face.

I have tried it outside the wall, and I still get a short truss.
It's been really puzzling to me. Tresa.

Try some other views to confirm the problem. Looking at the section you have shown I question whether we are actually looking at the exterior wall, compare the look of that wall to the wall on the left side. Also try building wall framing to double check whether that is really a wall.

Yes I know it is is not on wall see my pic. My wall is configured as a
Eco block 2.5" foam 4" conc. 2.5" foam wall. I would not think this would
cause my problem. The truss has the energy heel but will not go over the
wall with everything I have tried. Thanks. Tresa.

I tried to work with the ceiling plane again, I can see the ceiling plane go over
the wall but not the truss see this pic. I have tried everything I know to get this truss to stretch. Any more ideas? Thanks. Tres.

Hi Mike, No but thanks, the energy heel is over the wall with the top chord extending for the overhang. The Truss I drew is what I want. The problem is the bearing end with energy heel is not extending and bearing on my wall.
It stops short before the wall and isn't bearing. ???? This shouldn't be so
hard to do. Why me? Thanks for trying. Tres.

Hi Mike Yes - how did you get the truss to go over the wall?
The front won't have the overhang but that wasn't a problem for
me just the back part. Please explain how you got this?
    Thanks. Tres.

It looks more like the first one you sent. Without the front overhang.

Practice first (duh!) instead of working on your final drawing because (sometimes) Chief likes to "remember" things that should be forgotten.

I drew a simple rectangular building (regular stud walls with sheetrock inside and sheathing and siding out)

I opened the roof tools box and set my roof plane to a 4 pitch. I also set the "raise off plate" to 12" (the number doesn't matter as much as does it work.)

I then drew a manual roof (starting on the low side) and extended it across the building, pulling it past to make for the overhang. (I also pulled the high end back flush in the 2nd truss.)

Then I drew one truss (to see if it worked.) It did.

The ceiling is flat in my structure. Is that what you also want?

As for your truss not extending off the one side like you'd wish, it's not doing that for a reason. Could you post a picture of the plan view?

Hi Mike if your still up. I tried a small bldg next to my house and it worked.
I also cleaned up my house down to the ceiling and I tried it and it won't work.
I am going to zip my plan here and if anyone can get the truss to work.
There's something prohibiting in it or it's just me. I'm real tired so I might
have to look again at this tomorrow. So Thank You in Advance. Tresa.

I take it back, I just tried to do the moves again on another side plan.
It did not work for me. I apologize but I've had it for today. I've spent all day
trying to get a simple mono truss, I have to come back tomorrow.

You All have a Good Night - hopefully I can resolve this.
Maybe an Angel will have it figured when I continue on it tomorrow.
    Buenos Noches. Gracias. Tres.
