Stairs issue

I have a problem when I remove stairs of move them to another location. An opening is left in the railing or the wall that I can't get rid off. I looks like a door opening. See attached. How can I remove this gap in the rail?? Thank. X1

If these are door openings delete them ;if not try to pull the walls back away from the corner past the openings then pull rhe walls back again to the corner. Don

I figured out what the problem was. When you connect stairs to a railing it creates a door opening. The reason I could not delete this opening was I had the door layer locked. Thanks for the help.
