    Camera render view

    Hey Everyone

    Quick question.

In X1 is their a way after using the renderring camera to show the 2d Drawing that shows the camera and which way it is pointing to create the renderring in a layout view? When I try using "send to layout" it captures the floor plan but not the camera.

My purpose is I would like to show a split screen in the layout view, Top being the floor plan with the camera symbol and the bottom being the 3D renderring

    Thanks in advance!

    Jay

Hi Jay, the way I've done it in the past is to redaw the camera as it apperas on the floor plan with cad lines. Then block it & add to my library.

    Jay:

save the floorplan with camers as a .jpg and then import the .jpg into the layout.

Lew, that's only a good idea if you are never going to make any changes in the plan again. Otherwise you are creating more work.

Hmmm, your way sounds just as "tedious" ???

    Allen:

Sorry, I read your method to quickly while talking on the phone

If I read it correctly, you create a camera "symbol", save it to the library and then place as needed ???

If so, your method may be "better"

It would be nice if Chief was "enhanced" to send the cameras along with the floorplan if that layer is on.

I recently made a suggestion that we be allowed to place the cameras on various layers so we have more control
over which ones display. I think I will add that the cameras should show on the floorplan if we have the layer(s) on.
