    Colors in layout

A vector cross section view has material colors (walls, roof, etc.), and CAD shapes with colors.
When I send this view to layout, CAD colors appear, but material colors don't.
Any advice for getting all colors to show in layout?
    Thanx!

In general, when sending an elevation to layout, only pattern fills will show...not color (or texture)fills. It has always been this way. Elevations are vectors and will not show "textures". Textures are images.

Send your elevation to layout at whatever scale you want (like 1/4"=1'), then go back to your elevation view, and send it to layout as a picture. You will then be able to see both views. Select the picture, grab the corner handle, and re-size it until it is the same size as the b&w scaled view, then delete the b&w view.

This will get you very close to scale, and in color.

    Thanks, Tommy and Allen.

Allen, my Version 10 does not have a "send picture to layout" option.
I can export the elevation, save it as a picture (eg., jpg), then import it to the layout.
The image does show all of the colors, but the resolution is pretty rough.
The line work especially is on the crude side, compared to the original elevation view.

I may be missing something. Any thoughts on getting better resolution?

    You have to export it.

I just opened V10, went to elevation view, turned off grid display, hit "export>picture", saved it as a jpeg, went to layout, hit "Import picture", and it came to layout at just as good of a resolution that I was seeing on the screen before exporting.

    Thanks again.
Took all of your advice, but the jpeg resolution quality just isn't there, both on screen and print.

Another thought...Do you have "Patterns 3D" turned off in your 3D collumn of you layers dialog box?

If you post a picture of what you're getting on your screen, it would help.
