Importing dwg surveyor file into chief x1

I have tried to upload the surveyors file into chief x1 but keep getting a blob of colours and no clear drawings. What have I done wrong in the import and how do I get rid of the blobs of colour so I can see the surveyors drawing.
I have attached the file called smith to clarify my point.

Can anyone help?
